Late Night Talk Shows

Postby awright » Wed Jan 07, 2015 11:48 am

I could of sworn we had a thread for the late night shows but I couldn't find one when I searched. This is much needed as they provide new segments every night that make me lose it. I have heard pretty much nothing negative said about Fallon's takeover of late night since February and continue to LOL at his hilarious approach to the show. My father used to watch old highlight clips from Carson and other late night/variety shows and Jimmy's humor reminds me of the great stuff of the past.

I have an obvious Jimmy bias but use this thread to share any clips you enjoyed from other past or present late night talk shows! I'm assuming they're going to be from the big network stars: Fallon, Kimmel, Conan, and Letterman (Craig Ferguson is not funny IMO). Feel free to add any old clips from previous hosts that might make us laugh!

Edit: Colbert and Stewart on Comedy Central fall into this category too!

Fallon is great. His shenanigans are way more entertaining than the staged interviews of most late night shows.

I really enjoyed this awkward interview between Jimmy and Nicole Kidman from the other night. Kidman describes her first meeting with Jimmy and you can tell she never gets over the embarrassment of telling the story for the remainder of the segment!

When does Colbert take over for Letterman? Or is it someone else he's replacing?

Hahaha, that interview was so funny. He would have been like 25ish and blew his chance with Nicole Kidman.

This is very cute and funny. Anne Hathaway can't talk about her serious movie without her and Stewart laughing

Great video from Conan with Marshawn Lynch from the Seattle Seahawks and Rob Gronkowski from the Patriots playing Mortal Kombat. Both players are notorious for one reason or another (Lynch for giving little respect to the media and feeding them one word responses; "Gronk" known to be somewhat of a party animal and often labeled "childish") so it's interesting seeing them more in their element and enjoying themselves.

That was hilarious. I had to look up up more about Beast Mode. I have heard about he's media stories before. Found this on his wikipedia page:

Lynch frequently eats Skittles during games, a habit which started when he was in high school. After Lynch was shown eating the candy during a nationally-televised game on December 5, 2011, Mars offered him a two-year supply of Skittles and a custom dispenser for his locker.[43] On December 30, 2011, he was fined $10,000 for wearing cleats featuring a Skittles pattern.[44][45] On January 28, 2014, an official deal with Skittles was announced. The agreement stated that in addition to personal compensation, $10,000 would be donated to his Fam First Foundation for each touchdown he scored in Super Bowl XLVIII.

They threatened to eject him from last game because he was going to wear all gold cleat. Then he wore cleats with a gold bottom....one crucial play where they zoomed in on his feet to see if he stepped out and you saw those bad boys. NFL was probably. Like. God damn it

Beat Mode is way more entertaining than Gronk. Gronk can hardly keep up at times.

Also, this game is super graphic!

I like Marshawn Lynch. The NFL keeps bullying him into talking to the media.

Jimmy Fallon doing live show tonight, reminds me a lot of what Kimmel does after the NBA Championship and such. Just had a cameo by Arnold jus for a "we'll be back" commercial break cut. This is the kick off to a week out in LA so I'm sure he will see a lot of guest appearances this week. Weird thinking he's in NY so far from Hollywood.

Started watching but got tired and turned it off when Arnold came out for the commercial break. I want to see the lip sync contest though so I'll watch the rest on the DVR.
