Postby robh56 » Thu Nov 15, 2012 10:13 am

Hi, I'm new to the forum an was wondering if people could help recommend tv shows for me to start watching
Shows I have enjoyed are :
Prison break (awesome show :))
Supernatural
Jersey/geordie shore
Inbetweeners
Game of thrones s1
Gossip girl
Walking dead
Suits (currently watching series 2)
I know there's more but of the top of my head I can't remember
Any advice appreciated

That's a pretty good list to start with.

Some of us posted our favorite shows here
https://mantrasys.basecamphq.com/projec ... Folder.rar

Might I suggest:
Arrested Development
Breaking Bad
Dexter
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Shameless
Spartacus
Modern Family
Community

Are you looking for comedy or drama? And episodes that build off of one another or you can just watch by themselves?

Pretty much everything Tyler just said. You guys gotta get caught up with Game of Thrones before season 3.

I prefer follow ons where there is a story which is why I think arrested development isn't going to be my kind of show
Shows like prison break or chuck would be my personal choice

Fun fact for those who don't know, "series" = "season" in British speak.

Was this the season with Julia Stiles? The motivational speaker was killing people? If so that was season 5

You would be surprised. Arrested Developed has great continuity. The story builds every week and so do the jokes.

Arrow is recent. Just started a few months ago. There are only a couple of us who watch it regularly on here but I am really enjoying it. I didn't know much about the super hero Green Arrow from comic books, but I did some research before the show and now I am really into it.

Spartacus use to be on Netflix I know. They would release the new episode the day after it aired so that was nice.

Spartacus: Blood and Sand is the first season I think and the best

Oh yeah. I forgot that wasn't original to us. Yes. Americans copied it. So maybe that wouldn't be a good one for you.

This January will be the start of season 3. It is on a premium channel that you have to pay seperate for, but people really like the show. It has gotten really good ratings I think.

Spartacus is no longer on Netflix. Netflix didn't continue their contract with Starz.
